Die Medienrevolution der digitalen Technologien erlaubt eine Zugänglichkeit von Archiven, Sammlungen und Sonderbeständen wie nie zuvor. Zugleich steigt die Notwendigkeit transkultureller, religionswissenschaftlicher wie wissenschaftstheoretischer Kompetenz zur Orientierung innerhalb der Überlieferungen, gerade in Hinblick auf so genannte "Graue Literatur", Subkulturmedien, Exotica.

Daher bieten wir neben dem interaktiv ergänzbaren Faksimile Finder als Service an, Recherchedienste bzw. ihre Vermittlung gegen Bearbeitungspauschale zu übernehmen.

Databases

We cooperate with REMID e.V. (Information Service for medias and studies of religions) with a special archive of materials and medias from religious groups and activists inclusive New Religious Movements (and socalled sects).

The project of filing facsimiles all over the world tries to integrate every kind of media that fulfills following conditions:

1. There are no Copyright infractions (simplistically copyright is free: in Germany 75 years after author's death, America: 50 years. Other rules obtain at unique copies as paintings, manuscripts, museal objects).
2. There is a guarantee for permanent link achievement.
3. It is a page-by-page image facsimile or an online publication quotable as a page-by-page linear not-crosslinked document with a relevance for sciences or cultures.

Next to many search options you can look into subject register or time statistics. Try to improve your explorations with adjusting search categories, for example for Mss. from St. Gallen or Printers of 16th and 17th century.

Some special researcher tools are not integrated in Facsimile Finder yet, we advise extra:

• For manuscripts we link to the collection of catalogues at Manuscripta Mediaevalia. Additionally look for scientific manuscripts at jordanus, for Alchemy mss. at levity.com, for German medieval mss. at Handschriftencensus, for American mss. at National Union Catalogue of manuscript collections. Some libraries have further catalogues digitally:

German prints), EDIT 16 (Roma: 16th cent. Italian prints), VD 17 (Munich: 17th cent. German prints), STCN (Den Haag: 1540-1800 Dutch prints), ESTC (London: 1473-1800 English prints), Einblattdrucke (München: 16th-18th cent.), IDZ (Göttingen: German journals 1750-1815). Additional there are book-related projects like EBDB as database for 15th and 16th century bindings, for watermarks Piccard Online, WZMA (Medieval), WILC (Incunabula Low Countries), WIES (Inc. from Spain).
• For non-European and ancient literature we link to ECTSL (Electronic Text Corpus of Sumerian Literature), CDLI (Cuneiform Digital Library Initiative), CTH (Catalogue des textes hittites), Trismegistos (Egyptian Papyrii betw. 800 BC and AD 800), TLA (Thesaurus Linguae Aegyptiae), SERaT (System zur Erfassung von Ritualszenen in altägyptischen Tempeln), APIS (Advanced Papyrological Information System), APD (Arabic Papyrology Database), INBUDS (Indian and Buddhist Studies Treatise Database), CAN (Database of Chinese Buddhist texts).

Research Services

Our team has contact to many networks of experts in scientific or even insider branches concerning humanities, history, cultures and religions, philosophical schools and ideological communities.

Our service could be:

• A short answer for a question about everything possible for free - if you are not satisfied with Wikipedia and friends.
• A short investigation in a workaround of some hours for example in archivalia.
• A longer research project of some half days as a preliminary work for own interests in domains as mentioned above.
• Agency, mediacy and organization of expert lectures as far as possible.
